On the opening day, 8 September, a hybrid seminar titled “Auditing Cyber Resilience in a Changing Geopolitical Landscape” will bring together representatives of supreme audit institutions, the private sector and universities to discuss challenges related to cybersecurity and auditing cyber resilience in a changing geopolitical environment.
The seminar will be opened by Janar Holm, Auditor General of Estonia, and László Windisch, President of the State Audit Office of Hungary. Throughout the day, representatives of supreme audit institutions from Germany, Finland, the United Kingdom, Hungary and the ARABOSAI region will share their knowledge and experience.
Representing Estonia, Professor Tanel Tammet from Tallinn University of Technology will speak about developments in cybersecurity from a strategic perspective, while Mihkel Kukk from KPMG Baltics OÜ will address cybersecurity risks from the perspective of the private sector.
The Rector of Budapest University of Technology and Economics will share the Hungarian experience and perspective. A panel discussion will form a central part of the seminar, focusing on the role of supreme audit institutions in improving cybersecurity and on how they can contribute to strengthening the cyber resilience of societies and countries. The seminar will be moderated by Alvar Nõuakas from the National Audit Office of Estonia and his Hungarian counterpart Kristóf Kovács.
On the second day of the ITWG 19 meeting, participants will receive an overview of the Working Group’s ongoing activities and discuss its work plan for the 2027–2030 period. A panel discussion involving the Chief Information Officers (CIOs) of supreme audit institutions will also take place, providing an opportunity to exchange experiences and explore areas for mutual learning.
The ITWG 19 meeting will be held in a hybrid format and has attracted nearly 60 in-person participants and around 200 virtual participants from supreme audit institutions across Europe and other regions of the world.
