The National Audit Office of Estonia leads the EUROSAI Information Technology Working Group, which brings together 45 audit institutions, and has been invited as a guest to the EUROSAI Governing Board meeting taking place on 17–18 June. Over the past year, the IT Working Group has focused primarily on issues related to artificial intelligence and the audit of critical information infrastructure, by organising thematic events. The group also addresses broader topics related to IT auditing and the use of information technology – facilitating regular information exchange among member countries, preparing training materials, and cooperating with international peer networks.
The meeting is also attended by Alvar Nõuakas, Head of the Secretariat of the EUROSAI IT Working Group, alongside the Auditor General.
The EUROSAI Governing Board convenes regularly to discuss the implementation of the organisation’s strategic plan and other key strategic matters. The Governing Board includes the supreme audit institutions of the Czech Republic, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Slovakia, Sweden and the United Kingdom. The National Audit Office of Estonia has chaired the EUROSAI IT Working Group since 2020, focusing primarily on enhancing auditors’ competencies through training programmes and experience sharing.
