PARIS, 23 May 2023 – Auditor General Janar Holm participated in a panel discussion held at the annual meeting, which brought together auditors from supreme audit institutions across OECD countries and internal auditors from the public sector (OECD Auditors Alliance) in Paris today. The event centred around exploring the crucial role of auditors in fostering innovation within the public sector.

During the discussion, the panel delved into the question of whether audit activity acts as an impediment or catalyst for innovation in the public sector. The esteemed participants, including Taka Ariga from the Government Accountability Office (USA), Marco Daglio from the OECD, Martin Dees from the Supreme Audit Institution of the Netherlands, and Linda Meijer from the Supreme Audit Institution of the Republic of South Africa, collectively examined ways in which supreme audit institutions can better support innovation in the public sector. They also explored opportunities to innovate audit practices, allowing supreme audit institutions to derive greater benefits for their respective countries.
