TALLINN, 9. September 2022 – On Thursday, 8 September, Klaus Iohannis, the President of Romania, awarded several Heads of the Supreme Audit Institutions of Europe, including Janar Holm, the Auditor General of Estonia, with a national order. The award was given as a sign of recognition for an exceptional contribution to the development of public sector audit in the European context and for the honesty and professionalism that the Heads of Audit Institutions have shown in conducting the audit. Holm was awarded the rank of Commander of “Star of Romania.”
In addition to Holm, awards were given to Busuioc Mihai, the President of the Court of Accounts of Romania, and Stefan Viorel, member of the European Court of Accounts, who received the rank of Knight of “Star of Romania”; Margit Kraker, the President of the Court of Audit of Austria and the Head of the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), and Klaus-Heiner Lehne, the President of the European Court of Auditors, who received the rank of Grand Officer of “Star of Romania”; Marian Lupu, the President of the Court of Accounts of the Republic of Moldova, and José Tavares, the president of the Court of Accounts of the Portuguese Republic, who were awarded the rank of Commander of “Star of Romania.”
