Auditor General Janar Holm participated at a conference on the future of Europe in Paris

TALLINN, 16 March 2022 – Auditor General Janar Holm participated at a high-level conference The Future of Europe organised by the French Court of Auditors from 14 to 15 March. 

The first day of the conference was dedicated to the topic of supreme audit institutions, and Janar Holm spoke at the session of modernising supreme audit institutions. Alongside the Auditor Generals of the Member States of the European Union, the first day of the conference also saw speeches by Klaus-Heiner Lehne, the President of the European Court of Auditors, Paolo Gentiloni, the European Commissioner for the Economy, and Federica Mogherini, rector of the College of Europe and the former High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

The second day of the conference took place at the Sorbonne University and was open to a wider audience. The day opened with Pierre Moscovici, the First President of the French Court of Auditors, and Joseph Stiglitz, Nobel Prize laureate. The discussions addressed topics important for the future of Europe, such as social protection and health care, the green revolution, economic, industrial and digital sovereignty, and general European policy issues.

The conference was also attended by Märt Loite, Director of Audit and the Head of Analysis Department of the National Audit Office.
