TALLINN, 29 November 2014 – On 13-28 November, Jaipur, India hosted the second international training course on environmental auditing. The list of trainers included representatives from the Indian, Brazilian and Indonesian SAIs as well as Tuuli Rasso, the Head of the International Relations Service of the National Audit Office of Estonia and the Head of the EUROSAI WGEA Secretariat.

21 auditors from 13 countries attended the two-week course. As an outcome of the training, the participants write an independent paper which they can use for drafting an audit plan once they return to work.

In June 2013, the Indian SAI opened an Environmental Audit Training Centre in Jaipur to host training courses of the INTOSAI Working Group on Environmental Auditing.

The project partners (Brazil, Estonia, India, Norway, Finland and the USA) jointly produced a multi-week training program which includes an introductory course on performance and environmental auditing, and delves into auditing four areas: waste, water, biodiversity and climate change. The first session was held on November-December 2013.
