2018 ECA Award paying tribute to the memory of Jan O. Karlsson for research on public sector auditing

LUXEMBOURG, 12 April 2018 – The European Court of Auditors (ECA) has launched the fifth competition for the ECA Award for research on public sector auditing. The award is presented for academic research connected to the auditing of the public sector and to the mission and values of the ECA. The competition aims to encourage and recognise research on public sector auditing.

The winner will receive an ECA medal and certificate and 5000 euros in prize money.

This year’s award pays tribute to the memory of Jan O. Karlsson, who in his time as a member and President of the ECA made a substantial contribution to the modernisation of the ECA as the external auditing institution of the European Union.
