TALLINN, 27 November 2015 – Auditor General Alar Karis invited member of the Riigikogu Juhan Parts to a meeting in the National Audit Office on Tuesday, 1 December, to form an opinion on Parts as a possible candidate for a member of the European Court of Auditors on the request of the Minister of Finance.

During the meeting with Juhan Parts, the Auditor General wants to find out how Parts feels about the possibility of working for the Court of Auditors, what he thinks about the present work of the Court of Auditors, and what he would change in the work of the Court of Auditors to guarantee that outputs have maximum benefits for the EU as whole, as well as for each Member State. The Auditor General would also like to ask Parts how he would develop the relations between the European Court of Auditors and the supreme audit institutions of the Member States, and improve cooperation.

Background
