TALLINN, 30 May 2005 - From May 28 to June 3, the 6th congress of EUROSAI, the European Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions, will take place in Bonn. The congress is held in every three years and this year’s main theme is audit of public revenue, which is divided into three sub-themes:
1) the significance of public revenues for public financial managers and regulators
2) the role of the Supreme Audit Institution in the budgetary procedure;
3) audit approaches and audit impact
From the SAO of Estonia, General Auditor Mihkel Oviir; Head of Audit Department I Ines Metsalu; Director of the SAO Tõnis Saar and the Head of International Relations Service Rein Söörd will participate in the congress.
Created in 1989, EUROSAI disseminates international audit standards and methodological materials, generalises auditing experience, harmonises terminology and organises trainings. The SAO of Estonia is a member of EUROSAI since 1993.
