TALLINN, 17 October 2006 - The Auditor General, Mihkel Oviir, and the Director of Corporate Services, Tõnis Saar, participate in a meeting of the representatives of the supreme audit institutions, parliamentary audit committees and finance ministries of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia in Vilnius (Lithuania) October 17-18, 2006.
The purpose of the meeting is to exchange experiences in order to make the cooperation between the parliamentary audit committee, the Ministry of Finance and the supreme audit institution stronger and more effective. The main focus of the meeting is on the improvement of the work processes through comparison and understanding of which systems function well in the Baltic region and what we can learn from other Member States of the European Union.
Estonia is also represented by the Chairman of the Riigikogu Select Committee on the Control of the State Budget, Helir-Valdor Seeder, Deputy Secretary-General of the Ministry of Finance, Kalle Kukk, and the Head of the Internal control Coordination Division, Evelyn Pungas.
