TALLINN, 13 September 2017 – The National Audit Office sent a memorandum to the Ministry of Education and Research, where it stated that whilst the ministry has started clarifying and developing the skills of students and teachers, study materials and digital infrastructure, the probability of achieving the objectives and target levels of the digital transformation is small and the desired complete developmental leap may not be achieved at all.

The activities necessary for the achievement of the goals have taken longer than planned and it’s not certain whether digital competence at the minimal required level can be guaranteed for all students and teachers, and digital study materials and infrastructure can be provided to all schools.

The memorandum of the National Audit Office and the responses of the Minister of Education and Research, the Minister of Entrepreneurship and Information Technology, the Information Technology Foundation for Education and Foundation Innove are available on the website of the National Audit Office.
