TALLINN, 6 September 2022 – Auditor General Janar Holm will attend the 15th meeting of the Information Technology Working Group (ITWG) of the European Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (EUROSAI) organised by the National Audit Office of Estonia in cooperation with the supreme audit institution of Romania, in Bucharest on 6–7 September. In addition, on 8 September, the Auditor General will participate in the international conference "30 years of development towards digitalisation of audit" dedicated to the anniversary of the supreme audit institution of Romania.

The annual meeting of the Information Technology Working Group will be opened on 6 September by the Chairman of the Working Group, Janar Holm, and the President of the Romanian Court of Accounts, Mihai Busuoic. The main topic of the annual meeting is "IT Standards and Guidelines – what is the future of IT auditing?." In addition to the member countries of the European Union, the seminar is also open to members of the worldwide International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI).

Presentations are planned on the IT audit experiences of the national audit offices of Germany, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Lithuania, Georgia and France. In addition to the European national audit offices, India and the USA will also present their experiences. Sebastian Burduja, Minister of Science, Innovation and Digitalisation of Romania, will give a presentation as guest speaker.

The agenda also includes a panel discussion chaired by Mathias Schmitt from the German National Audit Office, with representatives of the national audit offices of Lithuania, Estonia and Romania. It discusses how the elements of IT auditing can be integrated into all areas of audit activity.

On Wednesday, 7 September, there will be a meeting of the IT Working Group, to which only the working group members and invited guests are admitted. The progress of the working group's projects so far will be presented at the meeting. In the workshops, their members will have the opportunity to share information about ongoing audits and discuss possible new forms of cooperation.

The annual meeting will be held in a hybrid format – more than 50 members of the working group will attend on site, and the same number of participants will attend virtually.

On Thursday, 8 September, Auditor General Janar Holm will give a speech at the conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the supreme audit institution of Romania. Several other heads of Europe's supreme audit institutions will also speak on the topic of digitalisation.
