TALLINN, 29 October 2025 – Auditor General of Estonia Mr Janar Holm and the delegation of Estonian National Audit Office will attend this week the 25th International Congress of Supreme Audit Institutions (INCOSAI XXV), taking place in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt.
The event is hosted by the Accountability State Authority of Egypt, which will assume the role of the next INCOSAI Chair following the congress. The congress is the highest decision-making body of INTOSAI, the worldwide union of supreme audit institutions, which approves the results of the concluding three-year work period and sets the goals for the next one, while also seeking to articulate global positions on issues of relevance to audit institutions.
This year’s congress will focus on the role of supreme audit institutions in auditing central banks and government activities during financial and economic crises and the use of artificial intelligence techniques in auditing.
During the congress, the heads of the Baltic supreme audit institutions will also gather to discuss strategic priorities, defence auditing, and communication practices. In addition, the Estonian delegation has scheduled bilateral meetings with colleagues from India, Jordan, and Uzbekistan.
Alongside the Auditor General, the Estonian delegation includes Director of Audit Ms Ines Metsalu-Nurminen, Director Ms Maris Vaino, Head of the EUROSAI IT Working Group Secretariat Mr Alvar Nõuakas, and Head of International Relations Ms Kaire Kesküla.
