TALLINN, 20 May 2021 – National Audit Office (NAO) will convene a virtual meeting of the Rail Baltica Task Force on 20 May 2021 to be attended by the supreme audit institutions (SAIs) of the Baltic States, Finland, and Poland.

In addition to discussions about Rail Baltica-related work and future activities of the Task Force, the agenda also includes presentations by guests from the RB Rail AS and the European Court of Auditors. NAO will be represented by Ines Metsalu-Nurminen, Head of the Audit Department, Kaire Kuldpere, Manager of the Infrastructure and Major Investments team, as well as auditors Silja Einberg, Meeli Saksing and Kristiina Visnapuu.

In 2016, Auditors General of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania signed a joint memorandum to facilitate cross-border cooperation and audit of the Rail Baltica project. The SAIs of Finland and Poland are observers to the Task Force created on the basis of the memorandum. Members of the Task Force regularly monitor and, if necessary, audit the implementation of the Rail Baltica project, as well as share relevant information. In 2019, a report on the results of a joint audit of the project was published in cooperation with the SAIs of the Baltic States.
