Each year the National Audit Office submits to the parliament an evaluation of the consolidated annual report of the state. In this evaluation the National Audit Office says, among other things, whether the state’s annual accounts are correct and economic transactions have been lawful.

This report says whether the government has given the parliament reliable information about the state's economic situation and spending the taxpayer’s money.
The report of the government along with the report of the National Audit Office regarding the accuracy thereof is approved by the Riigikogu each autumn with regard to the previous budgetary year.
