TALLINN, 7 September 2005 - Auditor General Mihkel Oviir will participate in the meeting of the representatives of the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) of the Nordic and Baltic countries and Poland that takes place in Gdansk, Poland, from 7 to 9 September.
This time the main topics of the annual meeting concern the planning and follow-up of performance audits.
Cooperation between the SAIs of the Baltic countries started in 1994, when the three state audit institutions entered into a cooperation agreement. Since 2000, the representatives of the audit institutions of Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Norway, as well as of the audit institution of the EU – the European Court of Auditors − attend the annual meetings.
