Moldovan Auditor General to visit Estonia

TALLINN, 1 February 2006 - On February 2nd and 3rd, the delegation of the Moldovan Court of Auditors will make a work visit to the State Audit Office.

The head of the delegation is the President of the Court of Auditors, Ala Popescu, who is accompanied by Gheorghe Cojocari, member of the Court of Auditors, and Lidia Tomozeija, the Head of International Cooperation Department.

The visitors will examine the activity, audit processes and methods, information and communication systems of the State Audit Office. European integration will also be discussed and an overview given of the relationship with the Parliament.

The delegation of Moldovan Court of Auditors will be welcomed by President Arnold Rüütel and Prime Minister Andrus Ansip. There will also be a meeting with Marianne Mikko, a member of the European Parliament and head of the delegation of the Parliament's committee for cooperation between European Union and Moldova.
The delegation will leave Estonia on Saturday.

Moldov holds an important place in the European Neighbourhood Policy. A plan of action has been prepared in the EU, which includes proposals with an objective to contribute to the implementation of political and institutional reforms to enable Moldova to gradually integrate into EU policies and programmes. Moldova is one of the target states of Estonia's development coordination.
