TALLINN, 29 September 2015 – Auditor General Alar Karis will be attending the 14th meeting of the Steering Committee of the Working Group on Environmental Auditing (WGEA) of the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) held from 30 September to 2 October 2015 in Cairo.
Auditor General Alar Karis, who is also the chair of the European Working Group (EUROSAI WGEA) of the INTOSAI WGEA, will make a presentation about the recent and approaching activities and future goals of the European Working Group.
The National Audit Office is preparing an overview of the market based instruments in the area of environment within the scope of the INTOSAI WGEA, which will be introduced by the Audit Manager of the Performance Audit Department Viire Viss and auditor Kristiina Visnapuu. Preparation of the work plan for the next working period (2017-2019) of the INTOSAI WGEA will be discussed at the meeting.
