TALLINN, 6 September 2006 - September 6-8, Auditor General Mihkel Oviir participates in a meeting of the supreme audit institutions of the Baltic States, Nordic countries and Poland in Jurmala, Latvia.
The main topics of the annual meeting include the audit quality control system, auditing consolidated annual accounts of the public sector and auditing local authorities.
The cooperation between the supreme audit institutions of the Baltic countries began in 1994 when the National Audit Offices of the three states signed a cooperation agreement. The representatives of the National Audit Offices of Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and the European Union (Court of Auditors) participate in the annual meetings as of 2000 and Poland joined the meetings in 2004.
