ABU DHABI – TALLINN, 9 December  2016 – The Auditor General Alar Karis and the Head of the Kazakh SAI, Kozy-Korpesh Janburchin signed a memorandum of understanding at the XXII INCOSAI in Abu Dhabi.

The memorandum expands cooperation between the National Audit Office (NAO) and the Kazakh SAI. In the past, communication between the two SAIs focused primarily on sharing experience in the field of financial audit whereas last year the Kazakh SAI gained new audit powers and now seeks advice and training in the field of performance audit.

"We are considering the request from our Kazakh colleague that NAO experts take part in the peer review of the SAI of Kazakhstan," said Auditor General Alar Karis.

The Heads of SAIs invited each other to visit Astana and Tallinn, respectively. The memorandum of understanding has been concluded for an indefinite period.
