TALLINN, 4 October 2014 – From 27 September to 3 October, the INTOSAI Working Group of Environmental Auditing (WGEA) held a meeting in Manila which was attended by Auditor General Alar Karis, Audit Manager of the Performance Audit Department Viire Viss, and Head of the International Relations Service Tuuli Rasso.
The participants presented an overview of the projects in the INTOSAI WGEA 2014-2016 work plan and their status. Alar Karis presented the EUROSAI WGEA report. Viire Viss led a discussion on market-based instruments for environmental protection and management, and spoke about Estonia's experience in auditing environmental charges and other marked-based financial instruments. Further implementation of the project was discussed with project partners.
