TALLINN, 9 December 2021 – Today, on 9 December, Auditor General Janar Holm attended a conference on the future of the fight against corruption in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The conference titled “The Future of Anti-Corruption: Innovating Integrity through Technology and Partnerships“ were held on the International Anti-Corruption Day and was organised in cooperation between the State Audit Institution of the United Arab Emirates and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). The Anti-Corruption Conference was a pre-event for the ninth session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption held on 13–17 December.
At the invitation of the organisers, Auditor General Janar Holm spoke at the high-level panel discussion, on the example of Estonia, about how the digitisation of state services and the application of technologies could be effective in preventing and combating corruption. The panel discussion was also attended by the Colombian Comptroller General General Carlos Felipe Córdoba Larrarte, President of the State Audit Office of Hungary László Domokos and representatives of the Corruption and Economic Crime Branch of the UNODC, the Italian Anti-Corruption Authority (ANAC) and the representative of the Supreme Audit Organisation of the Russian Federation.
Janar Holm will also visit the World Expo held in Dubai, including the Estonian pavilion.
