TALLINN, 14 April 2021 – Headed by Auditor General Janar Holm, the delegation of the National Audit Office will attend the XI Congress of the European Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (EUROSAI) organised by the Supreme Audit Office of the Czech Republic, which will take place as a video conference on 14 April.
Auditor General Janar Holm will give a presentation at the Congress on the work of the EUROSAI IT Working Group. The National Audit Office has been the chair of the IT Working Group (ITWG) by the decision of the EUROSAI Governing Board since July 2020, and this decision will be conclusively approved at the Congress. The transfer of the leadership of the EUROSAI Working Group on Environmental Audit from the Estonian National Audit Office to the Polish Supreme Audit Office will also be approved. Estonia led the Working Group in the period 2017–2020.
In addition to the Auditor General, the Estonian delegation will include Director Urmet Lee, Head of the Secretariat of EUROSAI ITWG Alvar Nõuakas and Head of International Relations Kaire Kesküla.
The EUROSAI Congress takes place every three years to discuss the cooperation projects included in the EUROSAI operational plan, which are primarily focused on exchanging experiences and increasing the capacity of audit institutions, as well as the strategic issues of EUROSAI as an institution. Due to the international health crisis, the XI EUROSAI Congress will be held online and a year later than originally planned.
