Accessibility of nursery school places in municipalities, towns and cities

The objective of the audit is to assess the activities of local authorities in guaranteeing access to the services of children’s institutions and keeping account of children waiting for a place in a municipal nursery school. Compliance of the conditions created in municipal nursery schools with legal requirements, activities aimed at reducing the deficit of nursery school places and improving the conditions in nursery schools, support systems for families of children left without places in municipal nursery schools and supporting the activities of private nursery schools will be analysed. The National Audit Office will also investigate the transparency of nursery school queues and the organisation of work to reduce the risk of misuse of power in maintaining nursery school queues.

The questions to which answers will be sought in the course of the audit are as follows:
1. Have the activities of local authorities in guaranteeing access to childcare services been adequate?
2. Is the risk of misuse of power in maintaining nursery school queues adequately reduced?
