Auditor General Alar Karis will attend the UN and INTOSAI Symposium in Vienna

TALLINN, 31 May 2017 – Auditor General Alar Karis will be in Vienna from 31 May to 1 June 2017 to attend the Symposium organised by the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) and the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA).

The symposium on “Digitalization, open data and data mining: Relevance and implications for SAIs’ audit work and for enhancing their contributions to the follow-up and review of Sustainable Development Goals” will focus on two thematic areas: open data, digitalization and data mining for sustainable development; and SAIs’ contribution to reviewing progress in the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

At the symposium, the Auditor General will be accompanied by Tarmo Olgo (Director of Audit, Performance Audit Department) and Krislin Kivi (Advisor of the EUROSAI WGEA Secretariat).
