National Audit Office delegation to attend INTOSAI XXII congress

TALLINN, 5 December 2016 – Delegation of the National Audit Office of Estonia led by Auditor General Alar Karis is attending the XXII congress of the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) in Abu Dhabi from 7-11 December.

The main themes of the congress are ‘How INTOSAI can contribute to the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, including good governance and strengthening the fight against corruption’ and  ‘Professionalization: What can promote INTOSAI’s credibility to become a more prominent international organization?’.

Reports on what has been achieved so far will be presented at the congress and objectives for the next three years will be set. The Auditor General is sharing the lead in a working group which will discuss the organisation of performance audits on the topic of sustainable development. Alar Karis will also be making a presentation showcasing the experience of the National Audit Office in audits dealing with sustainable development.

Attending the congress alongside the Auditor General are Director of Development Services Urmet Lee and Head of International Relations Tuuli Rasso.
