History of cooperation
The principal aim of the annual meetings of the Auditors General of the three Baltic states, the President of the Supreme Chamber of Control and simultaneous seminars of the representatives of the SAIs is information exchange and promotion of cooperation. Issues of common interest concerning auditing, human resources management, training, etc. are discussed at these meetings. Cooperation started on the basis of the Agreement between the State Control Department of Lithuania, the State Audit Office of Latvia and the State Audit Office of Estonia signed on October 14, 1994 by the heads of these institutions.
Since the middle of 1990ies the Auditors General of the Baltic states have participated in the meetings of the representatives of the supreme audit institutions of the Nordic countries where the coordination of co-operation with the Baltic SAIs was discussed. In 2000 in Kuressaare, where the representatives of the Nordic countries were for the first time invited to take part part in the annual meeting of the Baltic countries it was decided that the meetings of the representatives of the SAIs of 7 countries would from then onwards be organised in turn by Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The Supreme Chamber of Control of Poland joined the organisers in 2004.

This year's annual Meeting of the Representatives of the Baltic, Nordic and Polish SAIs will take place on 6 - 7 September in Estonia, Tallinn.
