The Contact Committee is an assembly of the Heads of the Supreme Audit Institutions of the EU Member States and of the European Court of Auditors. It is an independent and non-political assembly which meets every year.

The Contact Committee is the cooperation forum of the Heads of Supreme Audit Institutions where issues of common interest are discussed. The cooperation between the Supreme Audit Institutions of Member States and the European Court of Auditors is not only a legal obligation but more a practical need, as the institutions of Member States have become closely connected to each other. Managing the budget of the EU has largely become a duty of the authorities of Member States and recipient countries, which means that their role in auditing the funds of the EU is becoming increasingly important.
