For a long time the Estonian National Audit Office has been in close cooperation with the closest neighbours: the Auditors General of the Baltic states and representatives of the supreme audit institutions of the Nordic countries meet each year.

The main aim of the meetings is the exchange of information and development of cooperation. They discuss audit, staff and training matters of mutual interest.

The cooperation between the supreme audit institutions of the Baltic states is an agreement made on 14 October 1994.

In the second half of the 1990s the supreme audit institutions of Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark also joined the cooperation. Before that time matters of mutual interest were discussed with them once a year in Nordic capitals. In 2004 the Polish National Audit Office was added to the list of partners.
