Rescue services’ readiness for water rescue operations

The purpose of the audit is to assess the readiness of the state for water rescue operations (at sea, transboundary water bodies and inland water bodies). Answers to the following questions will be sought in the course of this:
• Does the location of maritime and water rescue units guarantee the required readiness for reacting to events?
• Are the resources required for rescue operations (trained people and equipment) sufficient?
• Are the areas of responsibility of various authorities clear and has the support of information systems been guaranteed?
• Are the reaction procedures of the Border Guard Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centre and Alarm Centre efficient and is readiness guaranteed?
